Envy = the desire to have an item or experience that someone else possesses<\/p>\n<p>2. Gluttony = excessive ongoing consumption of food or drink<\/p>\n<p>3. Greed or Avarice = an excessive pursuit of material possessions<\/p>\n<p>4. Lust = an uncontrollable passion or longing, especially for sexual desires<\/p>\n<p>5. Pride = excessive view of one&#8217;s self without regard to others.<\/p>\n<p>6. Sloth = excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one\u2019s talents<\/p>\n<p>7. Wrath = uncontrollable feelings of anger and hate towards another person<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seven Deadly Sins in the Bible<\/strong><br \/>\nA the list of seven deadly sins above does not appear in any Bible verse. However, a slightly different set of sins can be found in Proverbs 6:16-19, &#8220;These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him:<\/p>\n<p>1. A proud look,<br \/>\n2. a lying tongue,<br \/>\n3. hands that shed innocent blood,<br \/>\n4. A heart that devises wicked plans,<br \/>\n5. feet that are swift in running to evil,<br \/>\n6.
