Louie the Lumberjack

 

This twenty-five foot tall statue is used by the Northern Arizona University (NAU) as an icon of its mascot.

 

 

The statue is one of two at NAU. Originally produced in the 1960s as roadside attention-getters on Route 66. These lumberjack statues were originally outside the Lumberjack Cafe. It was placed at the NAU Skydome in 1979.
